BIO: Dr Hatem is a medical practitioner registered with the Medical Board of Australia and AHPRA (MED0001681725), general registration. He is a Surgical Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (FACCSM).
He completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (MBBCh Hons) in 2002 and later obtained a Master of Surgery (MScSurg). Dr Hatem has undertaken training in general and cardiothoracic surgery, and his research on tracheal resection and reconstruction was published in Egypt in 2007. He is listed on the Register of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate (No. 10447).
Dr Hatem has worked in a number of countries, including Egypt and Qatar, and held academic positions. He passed the primary examination for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2007, and in 2008 obtained certification through the Australian Medical Council. In 2011, he was employed as a surgical registrar with Queensland Health, working across breast cancer, skin cancer, hernia repair, and reconstructive procedures, and held an associate lecturer role at the University of Queensland.
His current practice includes cosmetic procedures, with a particular interest in facial surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Hatem has founded health-technology initiatives focusing on telehealth, digital medical assets, and mobile healthcare applications, with projects active in Australia, the Middle East, and North Africa.
