BIO: Dr Hatem is a medical practitioner registered with the Medical Board of Australia and AHPRA (MED0001681725), general registration. He is a Surgical Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine (FACCSM).
He completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (MBBCh Hons) in 2002 and later obtained a Master of Surgery (MScSurg). Dr Hatem has undertaken training in general and cardiothoracic surgery, and his research on tracheal resection and reconstruction was published in Egypt in 2007. He has been qualified and listed on the Specialist Register of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate (Registration No. 10447) since 2007.
Dr Hatem has worked in a number of countries, including Egypt and Qatar, and held academic positions. He passed the primary examination for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2007, and in 2008 he passed the primary fellowship examination of the Royal College of Surgeon England (MRCS1) yet he diverted his path to Australia instead and obtained a certification through the Australian Medical Council (AMC Cert.). In 2011, he was employed as a surgical registrar with Queensland Health, working across breast cancer, skin cancer, hernia repair, and reconstructive procedures, and held an associate lecturer role at the University of Queensland.
His current practice includes cosmetic procedures, with a particular interest in extended high SAMS deep plane face and Neck Lift surgery, and breast preservation and revision surgeries. Dr. Hatem also performs brow lifting, temple lifts, mid-face lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgeries except for ptosis), lip lift surgery, lip reduction, lip augmentation, chin augmentation, otoplasty (ear pinning), and fat transfer to the face including stem cell rich nanofat grafts. Moreover, he performs a wide range of breast and body surgeries; including and not limited to, breast augmentation(enlargement) using both implants and fat, single stage breast lift and implants, different scars breast lift (mastopexy) and reduction surgeries from Circumareolar scars Benelli lift and its modifications, to Circumvertical scars (lollipop scars) Hall Findlay and Lejour, to Wise pattern (anchor scar), to extended patterns that includes simultaneous thoracho-brachioplasty (chest wall and bra line, underarm and arm lift), Tuberous breast corrective surgery, areolar and nipple reduction surgeries, thigh lifts, arm lifts, buttock lift and augmentation (BBL), VASER Lipo suction, Renuvion plasma skin tightening, different types of abdominoplasties (tummy tuck) from mini, radical, high lateral tension lipo-abdominoplasty, to fleur-de-lis and belt lipectomies. Dr, Hatem performs a range of cosmetic genital surgeries; labia minora reduction also known as labiaplasty, labia majora reduction and lift, mons lift, and fat grafts.
His interests extends beyond the listed above, as he has special interest in Regenerative, integrative and longevity medicine. He enjoys providing his patients with all the non-surgical minimally invasive procedures like wrinkle reduction and prevention treatments, Volume restoring treatments and Regenerative treatments using the latest available products and evidence based medical treatments.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Hatem is an internationally published author who has innovated, developed, and published surgical techniques and instruments in both breast and facial cosmetic surgical domains. He has been invited as an international speaker on Regenerative, cosmetic and plastic surgery conferences in Australia, Europe, and North Africa has founded health-technology initiatives focusing on telehealth, digital medical assets, and mobile healthcare applications, with projects active in Australia, the Middle East, and North Africa.
